Virtually Invisible Orthodontics for a Straighter, More Beautiful Smile

Invisalign® Keller

Cosmetic Dentistry KellerIn the past, the surest method of straightening misaligned teeth and restoring symmetry to a smile was to use traditional braces, a series of metal brackets attached directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. Though effective, braces often caused the user to feel self-conscious about his or her appearance. In recent years, however, orthodontic treatment has evolved dramatically. Dr. Rupal Davé is proud to offer Invisalign® at her Keller, Texas office as a discreet, modern alternative to traditional braces. These clear, custom-made plastic mouthpieces can produce similarly excellent results, but are hardly noticeable to others. They are also removable, making it much easier to clean your teeth. Invisalign® Candidates

Invisalign® is commonly used to treat widely spaced teeth, crowded teeth, overbite, underbite, and crossbite, a condition that occurs when the upper and lower jaws are misaligned. This treatment currently holds a 96 percent patient satisfaction rate, but not everyone is a suitable candidate. The best way to determine whether Invisalign® can help you achieve the smile you want is to schedule an appointment with our doctors. We are passionate about helping you make the right decisions in improving your smile, and will take every possible measure to accurately determine whether Invisalign® is right for you.

How Invisalign® Works

First, you will undergo a full oral examination at Dentistry for Life. If you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign®, the doctor will take x-rays and digital 3-D images of your teeth to determine your customized treatment plan. At that time, the doctor will be able to show you a digital representation of how your teeth will shift closer to their optimal position at each stage of the process.

Once you have received your specially crafted mouthpieces, you will begin wearing the first in the series. The mouthpiece should be worn at least 22 hours per day and removed only during meal times or for brushing and flossing. Every two weeks, you will replace your current mouthpiece with the next in the series, which will further guide your teeth toward their proper alignment. Our doctors will schedule periodic checkups to assess your progress.

Advantages of Invisalign®

Unlike braces, Invisalign® requires no restrictions on the foods you eat. Patients wearing braces are often not able to participate in contact sports because the metal brackets can cut the inside of the mouth, but Invisalign® wearers can continue participating in the sports they love. And because Invisalign® is removable, you need only pop your mouthpiece out when it's time to clean your teeth, and you can brush and floss as you did prior to treatment. Cleaning the mouthpiece itself is as simple as rinsing it under the faucet.

How Long Does Treatment Last?

No two patients' needs are exactly the same, so every Invisalign® treatment plan is tailored to an individual's needs. Some plans take more time than others to achieve the desired effects. Depending upon your needs, Dr. Rupal Davé can give you an accurate estimate of how much time your Invisalign® treatment will require during your consultation.
