Temporary Office Closure Announcement!

The American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, & Texas State Board have all strongly recommended that all Texas dentists to do their part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by immediately closing their offices. We are complying with their request by closing our office until April 22nd. Because this issue is evolving so rapidly, we anticipate this date may change. We will keep you informed as soon as new information is available. We will be available for emergency care by appointment only during the time. Thank you for your understanding during this trying time as we do our part to "flatten the curve". We wish you and your family health and peace.

Summertime Snacks That Brighten Your Smile By Dr. Rupal Dave on July 06, 2016

Summertime Snacks That Brighten Your Smile

It’s nearly summer – the perfect time to help your teeth shine their very brightest. Healthy, bright teeth give you a confident smile that lights up your entire face. Practicing good oral hygiene is most important for healthy teeth, but did you know there are some basic summer time snacks that are not only healthy but can also help naturally whiten your teeth?

Here are 5 yummy summer snacks that will do the trick:

Pineapples contain the enzyme, Bromelain, which helps remove bacteria from your teeth and acts as a natural stain remover.

Strawberries containMalic Acid, which acts as a natural whitener removing discoloration on the surface of your teeth.

Apples, carrots and celery are perfect crunchy snacks that increase saliva production, removing stain causing debris and acids that lead to decay.

Yogurt and cheese not onlycontaincalcium that promotes strong teeth and bones, but alsoLactic Acid which helps clean teeth.

Water helps rinse away acid and stain causing residue from food and beverages such as tea, coffee and wine. STAY HYDRATED!

Brushing and flossing twice a day and regularly visiting your favorite dental office, Dentistry for Life, can help maintain your bright smile while preventing cavities and gum disease.  For adults and children alike, the American Dental Association recommends a check-up every six months.

** Don’t forget ~ with no tests or classes to compete with, summer is the perfect time to schedule dental cleanings! The cleaning will help establish a good baseline for the summer. It also gives your dentist an opportunity to help reinforce the importance of regular brushing and flossing, and instruct kids on how to remove the most plaque possible.

Keeping your child’s smile bright and healthy can be as easy as planning ahead, packing healthy snacks and making it fun! Keeping up with kids’ dental health during the summer helps keep kids healthy all year long.
